It is another wonderful summer season at Sunnyside.  The water is beautiful and the sand is whiter than ever. Spending 3 years on the Pacific Coast has made me realize that the Gulf Coast is truly a gem and we are lucky to have it close by. Here in Oregon, going to the “Coast” always involves a jacket to walk on the shore and a wetsuit if you want to get in the water.

We continue to maintain and upgrade the cabin and we hope you like the changes. Sometimes I think about the old double kitchen sink where both of my children were bathed when they were too young for the shower and want to go backward a bit. Then, with a jolt of reality, I recall the days of no A/C , the floor tiles that had to be glued down several times every summer and  the nostalgia quickly passes.

We have been reminded this year by the homeowners association  of the fact that dogs are not allowed on the beach. This is a law and the fact Sunnyside is a private beach does not allow for exceptions. Please be aware. There is a pet beach  near Pier Park. Speaking of pets, this year has brought our first complaint about new arrivals facing dog/cat hair left by someone family pet.  We do not want to have to initiate policies about pets (after all we are all family here..right? ).  So if you are a pet lover please make sure that you do extra cleaning so the next family has no idea Fido was even  there!
